Blessings Abound Family Child Care

Our Program

MISSION STATEMENT
To provide a safe and happy place for children where they feel loved and can learn and grow physically, emotionally, intellectually, socially, and spiritually at their own pace.

PHILOSOPHIES
  • I believe all children are unique and are given to us as a blessing to love.

  • Because each child is unique, individual creativity should be encouraged.

  • All children have different learning styles, rates of learning and developmental levels.

  • I believe in child centered play that encourages freedom, independence, and opportunities to make choices.

  • A learning environment should be inviting and engaging to children.

  • It is important to expand a child’s learning based on his or her interests, encouraging curiosity and open ended exploration.

  • Problem solving is often a hard skill to learn and this is a skill that should be encouraged.

  • I believe the early years are carefree years and are so short. Children grow up too fast and too soon they are exposed to a much more structured form of learning, and they should be allowed to just be kids!

  • Parents are the most important aspect in a child’s life and development, making parent involvement and communication an essential aspect in the child’s growth and learning.

  • A child’s self esteem is precious. Self-esteem is all about how the child views himself. It is important to not only model a positive self image, but to acknowledge every good thing about the child to encourage a positive self image.

  • I believe children should have fun!

  • I believe learning should be fun!

  • Preschool age children learn best through play.

    Program Information
I want you to feel that you are a part of your child's life here and to understand more about what we do every day. In my program, I incorporate The Creative Curriculum for Preschool & Family Child Care. The philosophy is that children should be allowed to grow at their own pace and to learn in ways that help them become confident in themselves as learners.

    Our curriculum has two goals

  • To help children learn about themselves and the world around them
  • To encourage children to feel good about themselves and capable as learners These goals guide everything I do in my program.

I have organized my facility to make it a safe place for children to explore and to learn. I keep the children's toys and materials on low shelves, and in low and easy-to-open drawers. This makes it easy for children to find and play with the toys they enjoy. It also helps them learn how to make choices and be independent. All children also have a place to keep their personal belongings such as jackets, blankets, and school work to bring home. This lets them know they are a valued part of our preschool family. ~ Click here to visit our Classroom ~

When you visit, you will notice that we have a schedule that we follow. This lets the children know what comes when. It helps them feel secure when they know that every day I will read to them before naptime or that after snack we go outside. The schedule also allows for the times when we all do things together, such as music and story time, and times when the children are doing things on their own, such as coloring and playing with toys.~ Click here to view our Daily Schedule ~

I plan many activities for the children to assist in the development of these goals.

We build with blocks, dress up and make-believe, put puzzles together, read books, tell stories, play with sand and water, draw and paint, cook, dance to music, and play outdoors. All the activities are aimed at helping the children to do things on their own and to be curious and interested in all that's going on around them. I talk with them, ask questions, and answer their questions to help them learn new words and to express their ideas and feelings.
